Guangdong Changda Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. is qualified for national highway engineering general contract and Class-A qualifiaion of highway design, a large enterprise with the power of conducting foreign trade. It takes on construction works of important highways, bridges, and tunnels in China. Based on the strict control on construction processes, engineering materials, and product quality, Guangdong Changda has participated in more than 270 super-long span and long span bridge projects, and has been awarded by more than 90 national and provincial Science & Technology Progress Awards, 34 patents of invention, 2 Ruban Awards, and 7 CCES Zhan Tianyou Awards. It is the only Chinese company who won Spanish 9th International Architectural Award in 1997. The remarkable Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge is a world class cross-boarder and cross-sea corridor covering various projects including highways, bridges, tunnels, and islands. Guangdong Changda contracts to build CB04, CB05, and CB07 section. The pavement of the Bridge is laying type asphalt concrete, which is to lay and pave asphalt concrete on the steel plate. This technology has high demands on the aggregate performance. The Changda aggregate plant in Zhongshan was established to produce special aggregates of various specifiaions for the building section. In view of global advantages the SOUTH has on the shaping and sand-making technology, the Changda aggregate plant in Zhongshan adopted coarse and fine aggregate production line designed by it.

The complete equipment of fine aggregate production line is designed and manufactured by the SOUTH, satisfying all technical requirements in the aggregate production process such as crushing, shaping, screening, surface stone powder removal, stone powder content control, fine aggregate screening, fine aggregate proportion adjustment, stone powder collecting, and refining control to meet the high demand on the particle shape, graduation, fineness modulus, and stone powder content for Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge. The production process involved in this production line, which is crushing raw materials into various asphalt fine aggregate, has been applied for several nation patents.

Requirements of Guangdong Changda Fine Aggregate Production Line

The production of black fine aggregate has always been a problem in asphalt concrete industry. Raw materials of asphalt fine aggregate used in the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge are diabase, limestone, granite, and basalt with the size ranged from 10-30mm. Take the diabase or basalt for example: The production of 0-2.36mm fine aggregate also struggles to prevent the micro dust from mixing in the particles of the same size. For instance, in the fine aggregate production, particles and micro dust of different size shall be divided into four classes: 0-0.075mm, 0.075-0.212mm, 0.212-0.6mm, 0.6-2.36mm. Such precise requirements for the size and proportion put a high demand on the equipment. Requirements of Guangdong Changda Coarse Aggregate Production Line

  • Raw material: diabase or basalt
  • Hourly output: 80 tons
  • Finished product includes 0-4.75mm, 4.75mm-9.5mm, and 9.5mm-13.2mm
  • Proportions of finished products: <10%, 41%, 33%, and 16%.
  • Adjustable finished product proportions

Specifiaions of coarse aggregate include: 0-2.36mm (coarse aggregate A), 2.36-4.75mm (coarse aggregate B), 4.75-9.5mm (coarse aggregate C), and 9.5-13.2mm (coarse aggregate D). Output proportion of coarse aggregate A and B shall not more than 35% of the total semi-finished product quantity and that of coarse aggregate C and D are 86% and 14% respectively with the deviation less than 5% each.
